About Lake Enriquillo
Information about Lake Enriquillo, the largest lake in the Dominican Republic.
The lake has one island, known as Isla Cabritos. The lake is situated
at the lowest point in the Caribbean region. Lake Enriquillo has
three islands, Isla Cabritos, and two that are usually submerged:
Barberita and Islita. The lake has a large population of American
Crocodiles and flamingos, and Isla Cabritos is the home of two rare species
of iguanas endemic to Hispaniola Island.
