El Potrero Chico

El Potrero Chico is a rocky outcrop, located in the Mexican state of Nuevo Leon, about an hour northwest of Monterrey Mexico, near the town of Hidalgo. Artificial anchors have been permanently embedded in the El Potrero Chico and there are routes for everyone from beginning to advanced climbers. El Potrero Chico attracts rock climbers from all over the world. The best time of year to climb El Potrero Chico is between October/November and April.

Posada El Potrero Chico
Small family run accomodations offering campsites and rooms with private bathrooms. Facilities on the grounds include a swimming pool a shared kitchen, and from November to April, a restaurant. The operators of the posada can also arrange for transportation from the Monterrey Airport, climbing lessons and climbing guides.
