Mississippi Hills National Heritage Area
Designated by Congress and the President of the United States in April of 2009. Located in the northeast Mississippi. Bounded approximately by Interstate 55 to the west and Highway 14 to the south. Includes 19 full counties and portions of 11 other counties. Center of Mississippi's literary and music contributions of Hills Region natives Elvis Presley, William Faulkner, Tennessee Williams, Howlin’ Wolf, Jerry Lee Lewis, John Grisham and Tammy Wynette.
